JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a versatile software engineer to join our team developing Multibeam’s electron-beam lithography systems. You will be developing parts of user-facing WPF applications and low-level device code. 

This position is based at our headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take the lead to develop and enhance WPF-based GUIs and CLIs for our manufacturing control and monitoring software using C# and .NET
  • Using different techniques and tools (top-down, MVVM, OO, UML), design technical solutions that meet business requirements
  • Integrate WPF front-ends with back-end services and real-time data systems
  • Write software to control proprietary hardware devices
  • Interface with sensors, motors, PLCs, and other industrial equipment through standard protocols
  • Work cross-functionally with hardware engineers and product designers
  • Develop maintainable code based upon standards of readability, component reusability, testability, and scalability
  • Closely Interact with Project Leader/Project Manager for task planning and estimation
  • Participate in peer code review and provide useful feedback
  • Ability to work individually and in groups
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and personal initiative on assignments
  • Create required sections of functional and user documentation
  • Position may include limited travel to customer sites

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing desktop applications
  • In-depth knowledge of .NET technology stack in C# (5+ years’ experience)
  • Skilled in WPF / MVVM / based UI development using Visual Studio. Knowledge of UI/UX design principles
  • Be well versed in Software Engineering principles like OOP, SOLID and Design Patterns
  • Have experience working with complex software structures, multi-threading, and asynchronous programming
  • Understanding of embedded development
  • Familiarity with industrial automation protocols and technologies
  • Practical experience in agile development in SCRUM environments
  • Experience in Semiconductor or similar industry

EDUCATION and TRAINING

  • B.S. or M.S. in computer science (CS), software engineering, electrical engineering (EE), or a related field; or substantial prior experience in a related role

As a Test/Systems Engineer, you will work across teams, including electrical, mechanical, operations and software, to develop processes, procedures, and methods to characterize and qualify component hardware for integration into our products.  The position requires diligence with defined processes as well as the flexibility to learn and acquire systems-level knowledge to generate new approaches and methods.  The ideal candidate is technically curious, a quick learner, and can complete work with a limited degree of supervision.

This position is based at our headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and follow engineering test procedures to align, measure, and tune electron beam optical systems
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data for characterization, quality assurance, and modeling

As a member of the software team at Multibeam you will be responsible for leading the development of direct-write software solutions that enable customers to maximize the capabilities and productivity of Multibeam’s electron-beam lithography systems. Our data prep systems convert industry-standard complex design data into a format optimized for our e-beam lithography equipment. Our tools are designed to support and enhance the capabilities of our system in delivering high-quality wafer patterning in IC production facilities.

This position is based at our headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Solution architect for Multibeam data prep system
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and integrate data prep system
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with external vendors and/or partners
  • Lead the design, implementation, debug and testing of the data prep system (including computing platform(s) and software integration)
  • Identify solutions that meet customer expectations and product requirements, managing schedule and cost
  • Contribute to the development of the product roadmap and strategy

As a Direct-Write Lithography Engineer, you will be in a unique position to enable Multibeam’s next-generation electron beam writing system.  You will create and validate novel writing techniques and critical tool automation strategies for this innovative lithography platform. You will combine understanding of the system design and physics with computational methods to extend system performance. As a member of the Process Engineering Team, you will work closely with the rest of the company, especially our column technology and software teams, and external partners. The ideal candidate is independent, flexible, and enjoys working in a fast-paced and creative technical environment.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect novel electron beam writing approaches to meet emerging applications
  • Prototype software scripts for writing system operation, data processing, and hardware control
  • Connect hardware and physics models to writing strategy and drive software implementation
  • Plan and conduct writing experiments and metrology, analyze data, and report results
  • Demonstrate system capabilities and create new lithography capabilities and test structures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Intermediate/Advanced background with Python or other scripting/programming languages
  • Comfortable computationally manipulating 2D data, automating tasks, and controlling hardware
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor process & metrology equipment or similar hardware
  • Familiar with one or more of: mask layout, OPC, ILT, resist modeling, optics, or image processing
  • Experience in algorithms and data processing for digital writing or printing systems a big bonus: maskless lithography, direct laser writing, inkjet printing, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, etc.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Materials Science, or related fields
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) OR history of owning complex hardware projects involving software
