Building the Future of Semiconductor Manufacturing
Unveiling a Home for Innovation and Platform for the Future
Every major technology inflection demands not only new ideas, but new ways to manufacture them.
July marked a defining milestone in our company’s journey as we officially opened our new Silicon Valley headquarters and manufacturing facility in Sunnyvale while introducing the MBX™ platform – our next-generation multi-column direct write electron beam lithography system.
Together, these milestones represent far more than the opening of a new building or the launch of a new product. They reflect a long-term investment in expanding advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities in the United States, accelerating innovation for our customers, and building the infrastructure needed to support the next era of semiconductor technology.
Our new headquarters significantly expands our engineering, manufacturing, systems integration, demonstration, and customer support operations, creating the capacity needed to meet growing global demand while enabling continued product innovation. Designed to support the next phase of our company’s growth, the facility provides the foundation to scale manufacturing, accelerate product delivery, and strengthen collaboration with customers and technology partners developing tomorrow’s most advanced semiconductor devices.
At the heart of this milestone is the launch of the MBX platform.
Purpose-built for the AI era, the MBX platform introduces a new level of flexibility and manufacturing capability for advanced semiconductor fabrication. Supporting multiple substrate sizes – from research-scale wafers through 300 mm wafers and panel formats – and a broad range of semiconductor materials including silicon, InP, GaN, SiC, GaAs, glass, and more, MBX empowers manufacturers to rapidly move from prototype to pilot production and ultimately to high-volume manufacturing leveraging a single platform.
Combined with our proprietary multi-column direct write architecture, MBX delivers the productivity, precision, and adaptability needed for the industry’s most demanding applications. From advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration to silicon photonics, quantum technologies, compound semiconductors, MEMS, and future device architectures, the platform is designed to help manufacturers iterate faster, reduce development cycles, and bring new technologies to market with greater speed and confidence.
As semiconductor innovation increasingly shifts beyond traditional transistor scaling toward advanced integration and highly customized device architectures, manufacturing flexibility has become a strategic advantage. The ability to rapidly pattern new designs, accommodate multiple materials and substrate formats, and transition seamlessly between development and production is becoming essential to the future of semiconductor manufacturing.
That vision is reflected not only in the MBX platform, but in the facility where it is designed, built, integrated, and supported.
By expanding our manufacturing presence in Silicon Valley, we are reinforcing one of the world’s most important centers of semiconductor innovation while helping strengthen advanced manufacturing in the United States. This investment increases domestic manufacturing capacity, creates high-value engineering and manufacturing jobs, and contributes to a more resilient semiconductor ecosystem capable of supporting the technologies that will define the decades ahead.
The opening of our new headquarters and the introduction of the MBX platform represent another step in a journey defined by continuous innovation. Since our founding, our mission has remained unchanged: to challenge conventional approaches to semiconductor manufacturing and enable capabilities that move the industry forward. Today’s announcement builds on that legacy while establishing the foundation for the innovations still to come.
As demand continues to accelerate across AI infrastructure, advanced packaging, photonics, quantum computing, aerospace and defense, and next-generation communications, we believe the future belongs to manufacturers who can innovate faster, adapt more quickly, and bring breakthrough technologies to production with greater efficiency.
With our new headquarters, expanded manufacturing capabilities, and the launch of the MBX platform, we are proud to be investing in that future – right here in Silicon Valley.
We extend our sincere thanks to our employees, customers, partners, suppliers, and the broader semiconductor community for helping us reach this milestone. We look forward to continuing to innovate together and enabling the next generation of semiconductor manufacturing.
